Lightning Crashes In Season Opener

The Florham Park Lightning opened the spring season at home against Morris Elite. The MCYSA Flight 5 Champions, now in Flight 3, lost their first regular season game since June 2016.

Lightning showed strong offense with goals by Christian Farrell and Tommy Byrne. With Aidan Buneta, Gavino Marquez and Christopher Adesso at midfield, Connor Perillo, Lucas Krznowski and Sebastian Renzi on defense and Matt DeFrancesco at forward, the boys battled it out.

Drew Heinold was fierce in goal for both halves keeping the score within 1 for his team.

Despite an intense battle in the second half by defensive players Trevor Anderson and Andrew Raphael, Lightning fell short by 1 goal, ending the game with a 3-2 loss.
Lightning looks to return to their winning ways in their next game on April 23rd at home against the West Paterson Strikers.
