Storm Falls Short of a Season Opener Win

The Florham Park Storm hosted the West Morris Soccer Club Tornadoes in their season opener.

The team welcomes a new addition, Luka Buneta, on the defensive back line.

The game started 7 v 7 due to a low roster by West Morris. Storm showed determination in the first half with Nicholas DiGeronimo in goal, Alexander Howden, Michael Rinaldi and Paul Rinaldi on defense and a strong performance by their forwards.

In a cohesive second half, goals were scored by Connor Schmit, Kfir Katzav and a left foot kick goal made by Liam Bill. Game MVP was awarded to James Raphael for his efforts to always find the ball.

Storm fell short of a season opener win, ending the game with a 5-3 loss.

Coach Adam Schmit looks to continue Storm’s high spirits and work towards a win on April 23rd against the Bridgewater United Strikers.
