Sweepers tie West Orange 3-3

The sweepers played a tough opponent their first game into the Spring Season.

It was a hard fought battle, where there was mulitple lead changes. With West Orange taking a 1-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of play, the sweepers were determined to turn the momentum around. They did in the 20th minute.

James Mochnal was able hit to find the back of the net with a penalty kick, which was awarded to him when he was fouled in the box when he had a 1 on 1 opportunity to score. In the second half, the Sweepers came out strong, and took an early 2-1 lead.   Kenny Scaglione was able to bury a left footed shot from a play that started with Daniel Kelly at midfield, sending a through ball to Valentino Della Grazia at the 18, and to Kenny to finish it off.

West Orange managed to drive home 2 goals in the 20th and 25th minute, and take the lead at 3-2.  However, the sweepers did not give up.  With only 1 minute left, Valentino Della Grazia buried a penalty kick into the back of the net with less than 1 minute to play.

Other notable mentions:Billy Carlucci made some tremendous saves to keep the game close, and the defense led by Aidan Walsh, Dylan Welby, Kyle Hahn,and Michael Farrell played an aggresive, physical game.

The midfield battled which was led by Jack Morgese, Johnnie Karpinski, and Dylan Peterson.  and worked hard against a very strong West Orange midfield. Lastly, the strikers were able to put pressure on the defense of West Orange keeping them on their heels with strong play from Jason Grzymala,
