SADIE KO’D SPARTA

FPSR center midfielder Sadie O’Donnell scored the game winner from the penalty spot and set up two others in the Rockers 3-1 win in Sparta.
Rockers scored a beauty late in the first half to go up 1-0. O’Donnell won a ball in the midfield and laid a ball wide to Sam Cicerone. Cicerone played a ball in stride to striker Ava Dico who took a ball from 18 yards out and went bar down.
Rockers came out with a wave of pressure to start the second and were awarded a penalty kick. Sadie O stepped up and went side netting to put FPSR up two.
Sparta answered shortly thereafter. Isabelle “MadDog” Medich took the soul out of a Sparta forward and Sparta tucked away their penalty to get back to 2-1.
FPSR finished the scoring. Mia Heinhold and Sadie O linked up to send in a Red Hot Jess Byrne who outworked a defender and toe-poked a ball left footed past a sliding goalkeeper to push the lead to 3-1.
Gia Dalessio, Sara Coto, Isabelle Medich and Ryan O’Leary were stellar on defense.
Mia Zirpoli, Ashley Peterson and Gracie Kelly pushed the pace and provided constant attack.
FPSR host flight 1 winner Madison next week.
