ROCK ROLL INTO FLIGHT 4

FP Rock fresh off a flight 5 title kicked off the Spring season in a frigid Cedar Grove at 430 pm yesterday under soggy field conditions.

The girls forgot to show up early on as Cedar Grove connected for 2 goals in the first ten minutes and the Rock were in a huge hole on the road.
FP Girls Golden Boot Winner Gracie Kelly opened up the scoring for the Rock 15 minutes into the game off a feed from Chelsey Fenyk. The goal brought the Rock back to life. 5 minutes later

Jess Byrne connected off a feed from Sabrina Casola and the game was tied at 2. In the closing minutes of the half on a goal mouth scramble Ashley Pomante scored what would prove to be the game winner.

Leading 3-2 heading into the second half the Rock closed down their defensive end with great play from Celine Ramos, Manuela Restrepo, Shannon Hunt and Isabelle Medich.
The Rock closed out the scoring on a quick restart from a corner kick. Byrne played a ball to Kelly inside the 18 and Kelly blasted a ball side netting to get the game to 4-2.
The Win in goal was shared by Gianna Green, Ashley Pomante, Sabrina Casola and Gracie Kelly.

Stalwart Rock player Ashley Peterson cheered on her teammates from the sideline but had to sit out the game due to multiple holes in her ears. Rock looking forward to getting Ashley back next week.

The girls travel to West Morris next week to take on the Blue Ravens.
